So I am totally in LOOOOOVE and obsessed with Amazon mom. If you go to www.amazon.com/mom and either log in with your Amazon UN & PW or sign up, you automatically get two day shipping! The more you order, the more farther they extend the time you are eligible for two day shipping. Its awesome! Depending on where you live, you do not have to pay sales tax either (none in NV or PA).
You can get a big box of Pampers diapers for as little as $20!! Sign up for Subscribe & Save (cancel at anytime - even right away) and you get between 15%-30% off!! Its a great deal! I actually received diapers the next day even though they said it would take two days! If you need something next day though, you pay $3.99 per item for next day shipping!
FYI - the two day shipping doesn't just apply to baby items - I ordered cookbooks and got them in two days!! (even sooner in some cases).
Click on the banner on this site to take you directly to Amazon to sign up! I have always loved Amazon - have been ordering since college. SHHHHH don't tell my parents that's why my credit card bill was so high ;-)

quick money saving tips...
I want to offer money saving tips on here but may have to do it a few here and there as I think of them.
Did you know that Target allows you to use one Target coupon and one manufacturer's coupon per item? Scope out the weekly Target ad for sales/deals (new ad available on Sundays in the newspaper or on Target.com- sales run Sunday to Saturday).
I receive Target coupons in the mail but Target.com also has a ton on the site!! I cut coupons like crazy. Don't think you have to buy two of an item just to use two coupons - if one is a Target coupon and one is a manufacturer's coupon, you save even more - especially when the item is on sale!! Its awesome!
I also have a Target debit card so I save an additional 5% off my entire bill when I use the card. Its not a credit card - it comes right out of our checking so you don't need to worry about paying interest charges.
I save on average $60-$80 off my bill by using coupons, sales, and my Target debit card!!

Haven't been on in awhile...
Haven't been on here in a week or so...guess I am still recovering from the Superbowl loss of the Steelers :-(
Oh well....there is always next year and who knows, maybe the Pens can do something great :-)
for those of you wondering...I am am originally from Pittsburgh so I am and always will be a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan...verdict is still out on the Pirates (who are they??? LOL).
Olivia is growing by leaps and bounds and I am just awaiting for her to start crawling. She gets her butt up in the air and leans forward but still hasn't figured out how to move her legs. She still wants to roll herself over instead of moving forward. I guess she will catch on soon enough. I can wait because I will really need to watch her like a hawk once she starts moving around!!

Sweet Potato (or Pumpkin) Oatmeal Pancakes
So I wanted to make pancakes with stuff I had on hand but make them packed full of nutrition (as best as I could). I think this recipe tastes pretty good but still deciding if I need to add more sweet potato puree or not. My baby is just starting to eat some finger foods and pancakes do the trick!! I make them up the night before and feed her small bits in the morning. I top them with a little butter before cutting them up and then drizzle a tiny bit (like one spoon full) of organic real maple syrup on them! She loves pancakes but she also loves to share with our dogs! She seemed to like these so hopefully others will too!! FYI: I am not a chef, just a home cook that likes to try new things. Please refrain from bashing my recipes but I will take friendly suggestions!
2 cups Bisquick baking & pancake mix
1/2 cup old fashion oats
2 eggs
1/2 cup sweet potato puree (or pumpkin puree from a can)
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp. sugar
Stir to combine.
Spray pan w/ cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat.
Spoon about a 1/4 batter into the pan. Flip when the edges become dry/cooked. Takes a couple minutes per pancake or so.
This made approx. 8 medium size pancakes.

Deceptively Delicious
Just received the book below from Amazon!! Some pretty good ideas. This book has recipies that sneak in vegetables in order to get kids to eat them. I am already a pro at making my own baby food so I have a lot of purees on hand however my 8th month old can't eat all that many of the items in this book just yet. Soon enough!!
Welcome to My First and New Blog!! All about mommy (and daddy) & baby/kid stuff!
Hello!!! I have never created a blog before so this is all new to me! Please be patient with me as I make mistakes and try to make this site user-friendly. I am actually trying to type while my 8 month old daughter is squirming on top of me and touching the computer! The joys of being a new mommy!!! (she is my first and only so far...still deciding if I want more LOL but we just love her so!!!)
I don't know where this site is headed. I am just trying to create something new where I can post ideas and share info with other mommies!
More to come...just trying to get acquainted with the blog program!
